On May 18, 1951 the late Honorable Dr. Henry "Hank" Eldridge founded the Delta Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. on the campus of Fayetteville State University. Dr. Eldridge wanted to bring a organization centered around friendship to campus, one that attained high scholastic achievements as well as service the campus and community, and since then the Delta Gamma Chapter has done just that, through various mentoring, scholarship, and community service programs.
